I opened my eyes at 6 o’ clock,
Looking out at the dawn,
My mind trapped in thoughts.

The endless possibilities the day could bring swimming through my mind,
I stared at my right,
There were two little birds at the edge of the nearest tree,
Apparently having their first lesson of flight.

As time slipped by,
I kept watching them.
Unmoving, so as not to divert their focus,
And cause mayhem.

While the mother of the little ones stood by the nest,
The father took the lead.
He gave a demonstration of the technique,
Leaving me wondering about the amount of courage it would need.

Both of the brothers just stood there,
Not making a move.
Too scared to accept,
They were not yet so sure.

The father assessed the situation quickly,
And went away in search of food.
Leaving the next lesson for the day,
When his children will be in mood.

I did not notice till then,
But tears had welled up in my eyes.
Thinking about what I saw that morning,
I wrote these lines.

I couldn’t help thinking about some people.
People who end up their lives in a second,
Not even realising for a moment,
What they mean to their friends and family!

We should share our thoughts
With our close one’s,
Loosening the burden
That kills us inside.

Understanding between the members of a family,
And thought-sharing are the best ways to lead a better life.
And killing oneself,
Will take away the hope forever,
That we can ripe.
