The Rainfall’s Tint

Why do I love rain?
Someone I dearly loved had their soul in it;
No, it doesn’t bring back the pain,
Every part of me feels free bit by bit.

There’s something about the lone walker’s gait,
Drenched in rainwater, he carries on with his trip;
With happiness, my mind is laid,
It doesn’t repent since there is no guilt.

The hailstones start coming down,
As blows the furious wind;
I will answer the call again,
There’s something unexplainable about the rainfall’s tint.

Bucket Hat

I remember seeing you,
Walking on the street;
A bucket hat you had on,
As you passed by the rustling leaves.

Looking at your silhouette,
My heart felt so freed;
Still, I stood watching you,
Just like the unmoving trees.

Could not say hello to you,
Never be a part of your moments of glee;
But since the moment I got to know of you,
In first-sighted love I have believed.

Well, Well

Well, well,
On the past, let’s not dwell,
Find something which appeals to you,
It’s time to break out of your shell,

Well, well,
No, don’t ring the bell,
Help won’t ever be on its way,
Make your very own den;

Well, well,
If there’s anything you need to tell,
Better say it and not let it die inside,
I assure you, it will end well,

Well, well,
Your stories by themselves will not sell,
Pour out your heart on each page,
There’s magic in your pen;

Well, well,
So hard I fell,
Without any motivation to keep going,
Every moment feels like hell!

Ways Can Split but Destiny Can’t!

I was just seven years old,
When I heard your first song.
Who could have expected back then,
This journey was going to be so long.

When I am happy,
The upbeat songs make my day more special.
And when I am sad,
The slow relatable ballads mend my soul.

I don’t just admire you for the the music you made,
But also for the life lessons you guys taught me.
Life never keeps going on the same lane,
And we must always be ready for the next turn.

I listened to your music by choice,
But becoming a directioner was out of my control.
It’s been eleven years since ‘The One Direction’ was formed,
And became the inspiration for millions.

All of you have gone separate ways now,
And may never return back together in future.
Still, I have this firm belief in my heart,
Ways can split, but destiny can’t!

I Can Count Them

Whenever I remember the year, 2009,

One memory never escapes my mind.

Countless nights I may have seen,

That starry night isn’t difficult to find.

There was a power cut,

So we were lying on the terrace.

Although it was summer,

The weather was quite pleasant.

The stars shone quite bright,

In the moonless night,

I was overwhelmed with delight,

At that beautiful sight.

Lay ahead of me,

The never-ending twinkling streak.

Out of curiosity,

I started counting them like a freak.

I always messed up in between,

Several times though I tried.

The little kid that I was,

I started to cry.

My grandpa came to my side,

To give me a bit advice.

He told me that it is not possible to count the stars,

Because new ones are formed every night.

That small talk somehow made me feel better,

So I ceased to cry.

Whenever I saw the night sky from then on,

I never took a try.

Since that summer,

Eleven years have passed.

The world is not what it used to be,

And the change has been very fast.

I still remember,

That scene well.

Sometimes I wonder,

Maybe it was nothing but just a vision.

Grandfather isn’t with me now,

But his words stayed with me.

He was right, of course,

But what if the environment isn’t pollution-free.

There are not enough stars,

Left to see.

Four or five maybe,

Sometimes show up.

Some people still say,

We can’t count the stars in the sky.

I just simply ask them,

To have a try.

No doubt,

A lot has changed,

That’s the reason why,

I can count them!
