These Little Hobbies

Just to spend some free time
We all find unique ways
These things soon begin to define our personality
And helps us to lead the success race

These little hobbies looks so small
Yet becomes so crucial as we grow up
Our interests might change over the course of time
But their significance can’t be judged

So become a master of your own self
And keep on doing what you like
Don’t fall in traps that others may try to set for you
Beause you are the one who has got to shine

I Am Not Pleased

The virus is spreading fast,
The pandemic has hit its peak.
The exams got cancelled,
When they were away just a week.

It feels like all the hard work,
Went in vain.
But it is also true,
That not marks but knowledge is supposed to be gained.

Nothing much productive to do,
Just lying all day in the room,
Watching and playing some cricket,
Be it morning, evening or afternoon.

Thinking of taking up some new activities,
To enhance my personality.
But the energy level is low,
And I don’t know why!

Everything around feels to have slowed down,
Cause there is a lot of free time.
Just reading Christie and some other good writers,
Be it fantasy, fiction or crime.

Also listening to a lot of music,
Which seemed impossible just three days ago.
Now I can do whatever I want to,
And got a contended face to show.

The duration of every single day,
Suddenly feels to have increased.
It’s kind of confusing but still,
I won’t say, “I am not pleased.”

Shatter Every Dream

The sadness has crept up in mind,
And nothing can be done.
Just “Stay Home, Stay Safe”,
There is no use thinking about another ton.

Felt like I was on the top of the world,
The feeling was great.
But just a little carelessness,
Made it all go in vain.

Tired of these circumstances,
Everyone is, of course.
But we should understand that the situation has worsened,
And now there is no place left even for the corpse.

This is not the right time to act selfish,
And co-operate as a team.
Or else the strain will continue,
And shatter every dream.

We need to break the chain,
Instead of becoming it’s part.
And we must fight out of it together,
By staying apart.

Literally Everything

We were just kids then,

To know what it meant.

I wish I could’ve seen it all along,

But we were too young.

No worries for the future,

Learning new things about our culture.

Trying a hand in all the things around,

Every activity a dare, just for the sake of adventure.

We did everything we could find,

Sure that we were inseparable friends in our mind.

The happiness sunk deep inside,

And we begin to thought that life was so kind.

But then the inevitable happened,

And one of us left in the middle,

With new ambitions for his life,

Went away, leaving us bewildered!

Eventually,

We went back to normal,

But something had definitely changed,

And we became somewhat formal.

We all chose different paths,

Swearing that our friendship will ever last,

Thankfully, they kept their promise,

But naturally nothing was anymore like our past.

These terrible things,

Made me grow up.

Still, whenever I look back at that time,

A smile does show up.

I hope that when all of us will have had enough of our own selves,

We will go back to the old ways, which were,

Just thinking about nothing,

And having, literally, everything!
